Self-Love Self-Care Tips

Hey Soul Fam!

This week during Thankful Thursday we discussed Self-Love Rituals + Self-Care Tips for creating a weekly ritual that centers around YOU. The following is a list of some of the things I discussed.

1. Do things to help you relax.

  • Spa Day: this can mean going out to the spa or doing it at home
  • Properly moisturize your body when you get out of your bath or shower, bonus points if you dance in the mirror ass naked after while totally loving and admiring your body
  • Go and get yourself a massage or do one on yourself
  • Do some dry body brushing on your skin
  • Commit to a skin care routine that works for you
  • Take a long bath or shower, you can make this as fancy as you want. I suggest doing a milk + honey bath, or other kind of ritual bath with cleansing salt and rose petals
  • Get dressed up in a sexy outfit and bask in your sexiness
  • Drink your favorite herbal teas
  • Listen to some soothing music
  • Use incense or diffusers to infuse your room with some aromatherapy
  1. Do things that nurture your mind, body + spirit.
  • Read that book you’ve been wanting to get to
  • Self-development: Do you want to take that online class? Take it. Want to learn how to ballroom dance? Do it. Want to get better balance through yoga? Get your yoga on. Whatever it is that you want to do or improve upon. Do. That. Shit.
  • Do a digital detox or try to limit your social media time
  • Do some journaling
  • Exercise and work up a sweat to get that blood flowing
  • Go on a walk around your neighborhood
  • Clean out your closet, if you haven't worn it in a year- give it away
  • While you cleaning out your closet, cleanse your space of stagnant energy by burning some cleansing herbs, rosemary is great as an all purpose herb for both cleansing and protection and its probably already in your pantry
  • Try some yoga, bonus points if you’re doing kundalini yoga Go out on a walk in nature and ground your energy. If you can’t get out in nature then ground at home using a visualization practice.
  • Practice some emotional first aid. Don’t know how to do that? Check out this site:

  1. Do things that bring you joy and start by asking yourself what exactly those things are!
  • Create a list of 5 things that bring you joy
  • Volunteering at a local organization
  • Buy yourself something you want
  • Becoming more involved in a hobby like dancing, baking, cooking, painting, drawing, playing an instrument or a sport.
  1. Find the time to incorporate laughter into your day.
  • Read a funny book
  • Channel surf until you find a comedy TV show or movie then watch it
  • Watch your favorite comedy special, you got to have one!
  • Find some hilarious YouTube videos
  • Watch some cartoons, seriously though it’s what I mainly do, and Netflix has a bunch of adult cartoons that they make if anime isn’t your shit.
  1. Start getting into the practice of Appreciation of the Self.
  • Create a list of 5 things you appreciate about yourself
  • Create a list of 5 things you love about yourself
  • Create a list of 5 things you have accomplished in the last year
  • Create a list of 5 things you’d like to feel like tomorrow
  • Be kind to yourself and be mindful of the ways you choose to speak to yourself. Let go of disempowering statements about yourself. That’s verbal abuse.
  • Treat yourself like you would someone you love
  1. Do take frequent breaks throughout the day to help you reset mentally + spiritually.
  • Even better if you can schedule some ME time
  • Use some of those breaks to meditate, it’ll help immensely
  1. Start making meditation a priority in your life!
  • Meditate every day, even if it’s only for 5 minutes. Take the time to breathe deeply!
  • Anytime someone frustrates you or aggravates you, MEDITATE.
  • Ground your energy
  • Make sure you aurically shield, especially before bed! I have meditation exercise slides on my IG highlights that are easy to follow. Check out @luna_estrellas_botanica for that information. I created them especially for beginners.
  • Use binaural beats and frequency healing to help you
  • If you still have trouble Youtube has plenty of guided meditations, I’ll be uploading some to my channel as well.
  • Look into crystals and then research the ones that resonate or call out to you
  1. Do morning and evening affirmations!
  • Find or write yourself some affirmations and do them! They are fucking awesome for reprograming your thinking, choose ones that reflect your needs.
  • One of the best affirmation rituals to do is to tell yourself “I love you” in the mirror, every day in the morning when you awaken, and every night before bed.
  1. Practice some self-love rituals concerning your foods and drinks.
  • Be intentional with your food and make it into a ritual – so you’re intentionally feeding yourself food that will bring you good health.
  • Cook one of your favorite meals at least once a week. If you can’t commit to that, try bi-weekly or monthly.
  • DETOX from all the crap that slows down your body. Consider going vegan or vegetarian for a month while you detox. While you’re at it do a yearly parasite detox! We eat and drink stuff that tend to feed our parasites, so detoxing is necessary. Not to mention the amount of waste you could potentially have within your digestive track. Our gut health is a big part of why we get sick. Try to detox and clean yours out!
  • Drink water. Stop feeding your body sugar and drinking your calories and choose water instead. If you are going to drink juice make sure its 100% juice. Personally, I cold press my own. If you are going to make your own, cold press is the way to go.
  1. Spend some time with your loved ones- that includes family, friends, fur babies and pets of all kind.
  • Walk, cuddle, play with or groom your pet.
  • Pick a day out of the week to get together with your family or friends. Choose people who make you feel good and are fun to be around. Try to avoid all the negative people or people who have low resonating energy.
  • Learn how to set boundaries with people who don’t make you feel good.

I hope this list helps with forming your own self-loving self-care rituals. You don’t have to do everything on this list but choose a good handful or more to do whenever you schedule your ME time. I suggest your ritual time be 2-8 hrs depending on your lifestyle but try to get at least 2 hours a week of this time. It is essential that we take care of ourselves! The people around us will understand if we have to take some time away, and if they don’t understand… that’s a whole other problem. Regardless though, once you pick your Self-Care day, be consistent! You can not pour from an empty cup darlings, don’t run yourself ragged trying to take care of everything but yourself! Sending mucho luz + amor always!

XoXo,

Luna Estrellas
