Properly Caring for Your Crystals

Crystals are excellent for many reasons and have various benefits. One thing to be mindful of when purchasing crystals is its type. Some crystals don't like the sunlight, while others may melt in water. Be mindful when cleansing and charging your crystals so that they will last you much longer!

Cleansing Tips:

  • Hold them under running water, while visualizing that water washing over them and cleansing them (except the ones allergic to water)
  • Bury them in the ground overnight, but keep in mind that some natural stones buried in the earth can expose natural cracks and then make them fragile, such as carnelian
  • Use other crystals, some crystals carry cleansing properties and can be used to cleanse other crystals that are kept with them such as carnelian or selenite
  • Use sound vibrations, such as singing bowls
  • Use the power of the moon and allow them to bathe in the moonlight
  • Bury them in brown rice overnight, when you are done discard the rice
  • Hold them over the flame of a candle
  • Hold them over the smoke of an incense or smudge stick
  • Place it in a bowl of salt and cleansing herbs
  • Spray them with florida water or other cleansing sprays
  • Use your breathe to blow the negativity away
  • Use your intuition to guide you!

Charging Tips:

  • Water can cleanse and energize at the same time
  • Put them by a window to soak in sun or moon light (be careful of those that allergic to the sunlight as they will fade)
  • Use sound vibrations, such as singing bowls or binaural beats
  • Place them on top of other crystals, such as clusters of quartz
  • Hold them, rub them, squeeze them
  • Use healing energy or reiki to infuse them

  • Phenacite
  • Apophylite
  • Citrine

Crystals allergic to water:

  • Under normal circumstances, any crystal that ends in "ite"
  • Angelite
  • Turquoise
  • Kunzite
  • Selenite
  • Kyanite
  • Malachite
  • Calcite
  • Labradorite

Crystals allergic to sunlight:

  • Aventurine
  • Amethyst
  • Aquamarine
  • Beryl
  • Calcite (some)
  • Carnelian
  • Citrine
  • Flourite
  • Kunzite
  • Rose Quartz
  • Sapphire
  • Smoky Quartz
